New Delhi, Business Desk.  For the first time in the national capital Delhi, the price of diesel has exceeded the price of petrol.  Diesel prices rose for the 18th consecutive day on Wednesday.  In Delhi, the price of petrol remained stable at Rs 79.76 per liter on Wednesday, but the price of diesel increased by 48 paise per liter.  According to the news agency ANI, this increase in diesel on Wednesday is being sold at Rs 79.88 per liter.  In this way, diesel has become more expensive than petrol for customers in Delhi.

In Noida, adjacent to Delhi, petrol prices have remained the same on Wednesday.  Petrol is available here at Rs 80.57 per liter and diesel has increased to Rs 72.03 per liter.  Apart from this, petrol is being sold in Bihar capital Patna on Wednesday at Rs 82.79 per liter without any change and diesel with an increase of Rs 76.90 per liter.  Talking about Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday, petrol is getting its old price at Rs 80.46 per liter and diesel is increasing at Rs 71.94 per liter.

Diesel prices have increased in other metros of the country on Wednesday.  However, diesel costs more than petrol only in Delhi.  Petrol on Wednesday is being sold at Rs 86.54 per liter without any change and diesel at Rs 78.22 per liter with an increase.  Talking about Kolkata, on Wednesday, petrol is being sold at Rs 81.45 per liter without any change and with diesel increase at Rs 77.06 per liter.  In Chennai, too, petrol remains unchanged at Rs 83.04 per liter and diesel has increased to Rs 77.17 per liter.

 Please tell that the price of petrol and diesel changes at six in the morning every day.  The new rates are applicable from 6 o'clock in the morning.  After adding excise duty, dealer commission and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price almost doubles.

 Petrol and diesel prices change daily, depending on what the crude prices are in the international market along with foreign exchange rates.  On the basis of these standards, the oil companies do the work of fixing the petrol rate and diesel rate daily.  The dealers are the people running the petrol pumps.  They sell petrol at retail prices to consumers after adding taxes and their own margins.  This cost is also added to the petrol rate and diesel rate.
